DEI Data Storytelling

COHORT IMMERSIVE LEARNING

Start With The Data, End With Powerful Stories that Fuel Change.

Learn How To Transform Ineffective DEI Data Into Stories That Inspire Action. To be actionable and to influence behavior, information must tell a compelling story that drives change. We’ve found that most companies have all the right DEI data points, but few have clarity, and even fewer know how to use DEI data as a powerful lever for progress.

WHY YOU NEED THE DEI DATA STORYTELLING COURSE

You're Generating charts, tables, and graphs,
but you're not changing the hearts and minds of your leaders.

This course introduces storytelling to diversity and inclusion as a critical driver to leverage change. We must be reminded that DEI data is not just numbers, it’s people.

People analytics or HR analytics needs data storytelling to effectively communicate insights and drive meaningful action by transforming complex data into compelling narratives that resonate with stakeholders.

DEI Data affect people in different ways, it pulls out what they believe, how they navigate uncomfortable situations, how they prioritize what matters, and how they agree to be a part of the solution.

Your DEI Data Is Telling a Story – Do You Know What It’s Saying?

Effective Data Storytelling:

DEI Data Storytelling™ is about taking, often dismal, data points and turning them into real-life examples that help your audience relate, react, and rise above the noise. With effective data storytelling, we tap into stories to help data stick in leaders’ minds, help them understand why inclusion is essential, and influence them to act or stop blocking the essential progress needed within your organization.

Storytelling is the most powerful form of communication; stores are the foundational art of persuasion. Using DEI Data Storytelling™, you eliminate the information overload, cut through the resentment, and blame, and offer meaningful significance to your diversity data.

We know that “All Data” is not created equal – DEI data does not drive change like the data from other business domains. For example, sales and customer data get immediate reactions because they are built around personas and financial outcomes. DEI data is not cool, it’s not sexy, and it drives thoughts of resentment and blame – so how do we write impactful stories that turn DEI data into actionable solutions?

Data Storytelling Training For Talent Leaders:

Learn how to build powerful stories using your DEI data. You will learn how to:

  • Understand the neuroscience of storytelling with powerful data storytelling examples that transforms your DEI data.
  • Think horizontally and vertically using DEI data as a critical driver to leverage change.
  • Remove the bias towards action and bid farewell to mindsets that block DEI progress.
  • Leverage and link data to appreciatively tell the organizational DEI story beyond the mission and vision.
  • Build a change strategy by framing the Micro-DEI data to build trust, connect the process to results, and build success as a core driver for change.
  • Connect DEI Data Storytelling to Talent Acquisition and Development to meet inclusive talent goals and to develop diverse stakeholders.
  • Tame the data dump, eliminate confusion, and declutter the data to bring out the best stories that impact change.

By the end of this program, you will walk away with the blueprint to tell empowered DEI stories that win hearts, change minds, garner support, get results, and build sustainable action. DEI Data Storytelling™ is a practical and remarkable way to gain insights and empower action.

DEI Data Storytelling™ We will help you make DEI data…

DEI Data Storytelling™ + Visual Storytelling + Data Analytics,
Will Help You Harness The Power of Your Data

By using data, analytics and effective storytelling DEI and Talent leaders can identify and predict workforce trends, measure the effectiveness of DEI programs, and optimize employee engagement and retention.
Turn data into intelligence by making it:

  • Simple, Salient, and Specific:
    • Presenting DEI Data must be simple, salient, comparable, and built within the context of storytelling.
  • Actionable:
    • Most DEI data is sitting passively in one or more HR domains tucked into databases crying out for attention and actionable steps.
  • Drive Change:
    • Most companies have all the right data points at their fingertips but little clarity about how to make their DEI data more effective to drive change.

DEI DATA STORYTELLING™ IS BUILT ON FIVE KEY PRINCIPLES

DEI data research shows that there are no intrinsic or specific tests that show the impact of organizational diversity goals on the organization’s DEI metrics unless you add effective storytelling.

DEI Data Storytelling is built on an evidence-based understanding of the effects of DEI policy, the long-term impact of DEI Goals, and how those goals connect to metrics and outcomes.

DEI data should be leveraged using behavioral sciences to help organizations use diversity data as an engine for progress.

HR analytics, also known as people analytics, is the practice of using data and statistical analysis to gain insights into human resources processes, trends, and employee behavior to inform strategic decision-making within an organization.

Data visualization is the graphical representation of data and information using visual elements such as charts, graphs, and maps, allowing users to easily interpret and understand complex data sets.

DEI data analysis refers to the process of examining and interpreting data related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within an organization. It involves gathering, organizing, and analyzing various types of data to gain insights into the representation, experiences, and outcomes of different demographic groups.

DEI data analysis can encompass a wide range of metrics and indicators, including but not limited to:

  • Workforce Composition: Analyzing data on employee demographics such as age, gender, race, ethnicity, disability status, and other diversity dimensions to understand the representation of different groups within the organization.
  • Recruitment and Hiring: Assessing data on recruitment and hiring practices to identify any disparities or biases in candidate selection and understand the effectiveness of diversity recruitment efforts.
  • Pay Equity: Examining compensation data to ensure fairness and identify potential pay gaps among different demographic groups, such as gender or ethnicity.
  • Employee Surveys and Feedback: Analyzing data from employee surveys, feedback mechanisms, and engagement surveys to assess the experiences, perceptions, and satisfaction levels of diverse employees.
  • Promotion and Advancement: Evaluating data on promotions, career progression, and leadership representation to identify any disparities or barriers that might hinder the advancement of underrepresented groups.
  • Training and Development: Assessing data on training participation and opportunities for skill development to identify any gaps in access or participation across demographic groups.
  • Employee Retention and Turnover: Analyzing data on employee retention rates, turnover rates, and exit interviews to understand if there are any patterns or disparities related to diversity and inclusion.

DEI data analysis plays a crucial role in informing evidence-based decision-making and shaping effective DEI strategies and initiatives within organizations.

By analyzing and interpreting DEI data, organizations can identify areas for improvement, track progress over time, and make informed interventions to create a more inclusive and equitable work environment.

This course is for DEI, HR, and talent leaders who want to: learn how to apply data skills and DEI concepts in order to improve their organization’s DEI program. This course is designed for those who are willing to take DEI to the next level to make sure the workplace culture is equitable and inclusive.
