Building DEI Accountability:
Who Is Responsible for DEI Success?
ENJOY LESSON 1
Learning Outcomes
Building DEI Accountability is the number one factor to creating successful diversity programs, but it is the one area that every organization struggles to achieve.
When something goes wrong with your diversity and inclusion program, the first question that we often ask is, “Whose fault is this?” Blaming everyone for the failures in DEI seems to be the natural reflex action for most organizations. But moving to blame fails to consider the unfinished work that must be done to build success as a core principle for any DEI program.
What will it take to build a Diversity and Inclusion program based on success? What we know when DEI programs fail blame is evenly distributed between Human Resources and DEI Management team, but rarely do we address the fear, cover-ups, and lack of information flow that cause the initiatives to fail in the first place.
Many organizations are addicted to blame. Organizations create short-term quick fixes instead of doing the real work needed to create sustainable change. The quick fixes were never intended to create sustainable change, instead the quick fixes were there to appease descent, and mask the real work that must be done to create inclusion.
In this webinar, we will offer solutions to create accountable D&I processes that lead to success. You’ll learn how to pivot from blame to accountability and create a culture of learning in your organization.
Learning Outcomes:
1. How do we evaluate the mental models of blame?
2. How do you move from punitive blame to performance accountability?
3. How do we avoid masking and covering up the real DEI deficiency data?
4. What are the specific steps to create accountability instead of blame?
